Comal County proclaims February 2026 Career and Technical Education Month

Comal County Commissioners Court adopted a proclamation recognizing February 2026 as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, citing the programs’ role in preparing students for workforce careers and postsecondary opportunities in the county’s two school districts.
After the proclamation was read, Commissioner Crownover moved its approval and Commissioner Webb seconded. Mike Crowley of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, who spoke after the proclamation, said the two districts offer broad CTE options: "Between these 2 districts, we have, entire teams that administer over 55 programs of study for our kids to go through." He also urged business and community volunteers to participate on CTE advisory groups.
Court members thanked teachers, administrators and volunteers for their work connecting students to careers. The proclamation names New Braunfels Independent School District and Comal Independent School District as providers of CTE programming and encourages residents to recognize the role of career and technical education in regional economic vitality.
