The Robertson County Commission approved resolutions to surplus outdated sheriff-department equipment and older EMS assets, including ambulances and medical devices that have reached end-of-life. The chair said the items have met their useful life — "about 10 years" in one exchange — and Commissioners approved surplus declarations by voice vote.
The sheriff's surplus resolution instructs staff to properly dispose of or transfer equipment according to county policy. The EMS surplus resolution listed specific vehicles and devices identified by committee staff as no longer serviceable; the clerk recorded the votes as 24-0 and staff said they will follow surplus-disposal procedures to either sell, recycle or donate assets per county policy.
