City Manager Tom Hanson explained that Truth-in-Taxation procedures require the city to identify the recipient and effects of a proposed rate change and that the presentation at the Aug. 4 meeting fulfilled that notice requirement. Hanson said "no action will be taken tonight on the final budget" and that the council will consider the public comments presented before an anticipated final vote.
After the public hearing and follow-up questions by council members, Council Member Zunayid Z. Zishan moved to adjourn; Council Member Anna Davidson seconded and the council approved the motion unanimously (5-0). The clerk recorded adjournment at 6:34 p.m. The council is scheduled to meet Aug. 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall for final budget discussion and decision.
