Council awards $1.32 million burn tower contract and approves several small contracts and grants

The council also authorized a task order with Geocon Engineering to provide geotechnical exploration for a new pool support building at the aquatic center (not to exceed $5,570) and approved a leadership training services agreement for the police department with a not-to-exceed amount of $14,000. In addition, council adopted a grant award agreement with the National Audubon Society for stewardship of coastal beach-nesting bird habitat.
Each item was moved, seconded and adopted during the meeting; staff noted the projects are part of ongoing capital maintenance and public safety investments. Implementation will follow departmental contracting and inspection procedures.
