Mayor Peter Hendricks appointed Nancy Flannigan to the office of City Clerk and the City Council confirmed the appointment at a special meeting on Dec. 15, 2016.
Council Member Jane Conard moved to confirm the appointment; Council Member Brad DuFur seconded. A roll call vote was taken: ayes — Council President Keith Saks, Council Member Jane Conard and Council Member Brad DuFur; nays — none; absent — Council Member Michelle Griffith. The Mayor declared the motion approved.
Hendricks had earlier recognized Flannigan and another employee for distinguished service, saying, "Because of their concern, both stepped up and endured pressure and worked in a stressful situation." The council did not record additional discussion before the vote.
The appointment fills a vacancy in the City Clerk's Office. The council took no separate action on staffing or compensation beyond confirming the appointment and the mayor's announced one-time bonuses.
