Planning board and Milford trustees opt against short-term rental moratorium; plan public hearings

Council Member Vera Sosnowski told the board that at the December Planning Board meeting the consensus was not to adopt a moratorium on short-term rentals (STRs). Instead, planning board members recommended holding open hearings during the year so residents can air concerns and complaints.
Town Attorney E. Hyde Clark told the board he advised against a moratorium but said he would work with the board if they chose otherwise. The board recorded the Planning Board's position and did not vote on an ordinance or moratorium at the Dec. 18 meeting.
