At a Feb. 12 Facilities Committee meeting, members discussed the feasibility of demolishing portable units serving the junior and senior high campuses. Committee members said the units presented safety concerns but "there are better ways to spend the money," and did not move forward with demolition plans.
Director of Operations Ryan Carruth introduced the item and the committee weighed demolition against other capital needs. The minutes record a consensus that, given the district's current financial state, addressing other priorities (including active building repairs) should take precedence over removal. The committee did not record a motion or vote on demolition during the meeting.
