District releases PACE athletic guide; sets ticket prices, fundraising rules and eligibility standards

The Preston Joint School District packet included a detailed PACE athletic guide covering finances, purchasing, travel, camps, facility use, eligibility, drug testing and Title IX compliance. Although the guide was provided as an information item rather than a stand-alone motion, trustees reviewed its contents during the superintendent’s information items.

The guide lists ticket prices (Adult $7.00; Seniors 65+ $5.00; high-school students $5.00; K–8 students $4.00), a 20-event regular-season punch pass ($100) and a family pass ($300). It also outlines fundraising procedures (approval by activities director and principal; fundraising forms due three weeks prior) and specifies that advisors and coaches should not handle program money outside the finance office.

The PACE handbook contains conduct expectations and eligibility rules: a 2.0 GPA minimum with no F’s for Preston High School participation, weekly grade checks, procedures for handling drug-testing violations (tiered suspensions and retesting conditions) and a Title IX compliance statement. The guide identifies Brady Garner (District Athletic Director), Brent Knapp (HS Athletic Supervisor) and Clint Peery (HS Principal) as district contacts for questions about PACE.

The guide's operational specifics — travel rates (school bus $3.00 per mile; district vans $0.40 per mile), limits on gift acceptance (no more than $25 from vendors), and procedures for facility rental — give coaches and staff explicit procedural guidance for the year ahead. The board did not take separate action on PACE at the meeting.
