Lanark schedules street bids and probes sticky seal coat on Carroll Street

City staff told the council that bid documents for two street projects that do not require IDOT Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) approval should be ready for advertisement by Friday, while two additional projects remain pending IDOT approval. Once advertised, the city expects to allow roughly two weeks for bid submissions and will review bid documents with council before advertisement.
Separately, Alderperson Ethan Lartz raised concerns about the seal coat on Carroll Street, reporting the surface remains sticky in places and may be deteriorating. Staff noted the issue might be covered under warranty and discussed whether the fog seal application was appropriate for some residential streets; the council asked staff to continue investigating corrective measures.
