Alderperson Justin Rausch moved to proceed with the purchase and Alderperson Mark Macomber seconded; the motion carried by six aye votes (Knutti, Lartz, Plock, Rausch, Macomber, Metz).
Council members confirmed the purchase falls within the approved budget and discussed options for disposing of the current vehicle, including dealer assistance for resale or a trade and potential interest from the park district. Staff will proceed with the purchase and pursue a trade or resale value for the existing squad car.
