Board approves 2026 meeting schedule; minutes and adjournment recorded

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners approved its 2026 meeting schedule at the Jan. 7, 2026 meeting and directed that the schedule be posted on the Village of Lansing website. Commissioner Klausner moved to approve the schedule, seconded by Commissioner Barajas; the motion carried with a unanimous voice vote.
The board also approved the Dec. 3, 2025 regular meeting minutes on a motion from Commissioner Barajas, seconded by Commissioner Vitiritti. Mayor Hardy announced he will appoint Commissioner VanderMolen as chairman at the Jan. 20, 2026 village board meeting; VanderMolen will serve as acting chairman until that appointment. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Barajas, seconded by Commissioner Vitiritti.
