Cortland trustees note storm damage, cleanup schedule and upcoming events

Mayor Pietrowski reported storm-related damage this week affecting residents and the Town's Well 2 building. Public Works Director Joel Summerhill said crews would run a woodchipper through Thursday of that week and on the following Monday and Tuesday; crews would not conduct cleanup on Friday because of town-wide garage sales. Clerk Cheryl Aldis added that LRS would begin garbage pickup at 6:00 a.m. on the garage-sale day and would not return for cans put out late.
Town Engineer Brandy Williams reported the North Avenue Road Project will go out for bid in May. Trustee Fioretto said the Parks Advisory Board did not meet in April but planned to place a sign at the newly proposed park honoring Bill Abbott and would coordinate with the family on timing. Mayor Pietrowski also asked residents to avoid blowing grass into streets and announced Summerfest (Aug. 7–8) and an America 250th Celebration at Suppeland Park on June 27 with food and activities.
