Lanark council approves resolutions folding library and cemetery funds into city budget

The Lanark City Council voted April 21 to fold the library and cemetery funds into the city’s budget as separate line items and to formally authorize the City Treasurer, City Clerk, and Mayor to access and manage those accounts per banking requirements. Alderperson Brad Knutti moved both resolutions; Alderperson Mark Macomber seconded the cemetery resolution. Both votes were unanimous (6–0).
Council noted that while administrative duties for issuing checks and paying bills will be handled by the city, each board (library and cemetery) will continue to review and approve its own expenses to ensure oversight. The action was recorded as Library Resolution R0421206-1 and Cemetery Resolution R0421206-2.
