Separately, a motion by Alderperson Brad Knutti, seconded by Alderperson Mark Macomber, approved an additional $3,500 donation to the Old Settler’s Day committee; that motion also passed on a 6–0 vote.
Council members noted the historical practice of supporting event activities such as blow-ups and other park attractions. The motions were recorded as votes of the full council: "Motion carried by 6 aye votes" was entered into the minutes for each approval. The council did not set any additional conditions on the grants during the meeting.
