The Lawrenceville City Council cleared several procedural items on Oct. 9: Alderman Brewer moved and Alderman Dunn seconded approval of the September minutes, and the council approved paying the Sewer and Water Department bills for September on a 7-0-1 roll call. The Treasurer’s Report noted three certificates of deposit at Casey State Bank holding $77,968.95 each at a stated 4.25% rate.
Other actions: Alderman Volkman’s motion to purchase a time clock for five-minute public-comment limits passed 5-2-1 (Yeas: Brewer, Dunn, Goins, Lewis, Volkman; Nays: Fritch, Waldrop; Absent: Greene). Alderman Brewer moved to rescind the previous motion to audit workforce timesheets dating back to January 2024; that rescission passed 7-0-1. The council followed an ADG recommendation to repair a flat portion of the Armory roof; that motion passed 5-1-1-1 (Yeas: Waldrop, Dunn, Goins, Fritch, Brewer; Nay: Volkman; Abstain: Lewis; Absent: Greene). Alderman Brewer moved to adjourn and the meeting ended at 8:29 p.m.
