The Village of Millerton Board of Trustees on Jan. 13 authorized acquisition of a backhoe/loader for maintenance, with an estimated maximum cost of $148,500. Deputy Mayor Matt Hartzog moved the resolution, which Trustee Lisa Hermann seconded and the board approved unanimously.
The board also approved a related expenditure and financing step. Trustees authorized spending not to exceed $12,162.50 toward the backhoe purchase (subject to a permissive referendum) and approved borrowing $12,162.50 from the General Fund Appropriated Fund Balance to fund that portion. Trustee Matt Soleau moved the transfer and Deputy Mayor Hartzog seconded; the vote was 5–0. The purchase and the partial funding were discussed during a presentation by Trustee David Sherman about trade‑in options for the village's old backhoe.
