The Village of Lake Villa Board on Jan. 5 approved a series of routine and policy items, including a motion to induce potential redevelopment at Sherwood Park, adoption of the Chain O’Lakes Watershed-Based Plan and the approval of accounts payable of $415,186.87.
Mayor James McDonald called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., and the board carried several roll-call votes: minutes from Dec. 15, 2025 were approved with four ayes and one abstention; the accounts payable report passed 6-0. Village Administrator Mike Strong briefed the board on a zoning application for an eight-townhome project at Cedar Lake Road and Monaville Road and on a conceptual Sherwood Park plan described as about 260 townhomes. The meeting concluded with an update on tobacco regulations review and Friends of Cedar Lake efforts.
