Supervisor Chad Niles told the board the town experienced flash flooding during Tropical Depression Debby on Aug. 9–10 and that Governor Kathy Hochul had submitted a request for a Major Disaster Declaration to seek federal assistance. Niles said he anticipates receiving the declaration by the end of the month; no formal town action was taken beyond filing the Supervisor's report pursuant to Town Law §119.
Board members discussed storm-related damage appearing on town roads, including culvert problems and needed repairs. Highway Superintendent Mike Helm reported two remaining culverts that need repair and that the department has hauled 50 loads of sand in response to storm cleanup.
