Board approves 2026 COLA, schedules trustee elections and seeks reappointments

The Lansing Police Pension Fund Board approved the 2026 Cost of Living Adjustments as calculated by Lauterbach & Amen and required by statute. Trustee Joshua Talavera-Little moved and Trustee Matt Prendergast seconded the motion, which passed by roll call vote with four ayes and one absent.
The Board reviewed trustee term expirations: active-member terms held by Trustees Talavera-Little and Prendergast and the retired-member term held by Trustee Norb Schlesser expire in May 2026. Trustee Prendergast and Trustee Schlesser indicated an interest in remaining on the Board if nominated; Lauterbach & Amen will conduct the election for the two active-member positions and the retired-member position. The Board also noted appointed-member positions (Trustees Novak and Aguilar) are expiring in May 2026 and the Board will seek reappointment from the Village.
