City Manager Pepper Lockhart told the March 2 work session that the City of Evart’s application to the Office of Rural Prosperity for a Community Facilities Technical Assistance grant has been moved to the pipeline and that the Planning Commission recommended moving forward with the project.
Lockhart said he would like the council’s approval to pursue additional appropriation opportunities and other funding prospects to support a community facility. No specific funding sources or dollar amounts were announced at the work session.
The matter will continue to the regular council meeting for further consideration; the Planning Commission has already reviewed the concept and recommended proceeding. The project was described as a priority for downtown revitalization in staff materials presented at the session.
