The Lockport School District 91 Board of Education entered a closed session on Oct. 7, 2025, to discuss collective negotiating matters with employees and their representatives under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2). The minutes record a motion to enter the closed session at 4:05 p.m. "Motion made by Arvidson to enter a closed session at 4:05 pm, seconded by Oxley-Turner. All members voted to open the session by responding affirmatively. No one opposed it."
The board cited the statutory basis for the closed session in the minutes: "Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2)." The minutes show the board later moved to end the closed session and resume the regular meeting at 5:49 p.m.: "Motion made by Garrett to come out of closed session and resume the regular meeting at 5:49 pm, seconded by Arvidson. All members voted to open the meeting by responding affirmatively. No one opposed it." The meeting was formally adjourned at 5:51 p.m. after a motion by President Laura Garrett, seconded by Oxley-Turner.
