Lockport SD 91 board adopts 2025–2026 budget after public hearing

The Lockport School District 91 Board of Education opened a public budget hearing at the start of its Sept. 9 meeting and heard an update from Superintendent Dr. Wilkey on the district’s financial plan for 2025–2026. Following discussion, a motion by Board Member Oxley-Turner to adopt the 2025–2026 budget was seconded by Arvidson and passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. The board recorded ayes from Cutforth, Oxley-Turner, Rodriguez, Fracaro, Arvidson, Pinn and Garrett. The board closed the hearing and resumed the regular agenda before taking the adoption vote.
The budget adoption was presented as a routine action item; Dr. Wilkey had distributed budget materials during the hearing and the full budget was entered into the meeting record for review. The board did not record any nays or abstentions on the motion. The district will implement the adopted fiscal-year budget for operations and programs in the coming school year.
The next procedural step is implementation under the superintendent’s oversight and any required reporting to county or state authorities; the board did not direct specific amendments at the meeting.
