After closed session Lindop board approves hire and three terminations

After returning from closed session the Lindop SD 92 board approved several personnel actions. The board voted to hire Nicholas Xydakis as a middle-school social studies teacher for a salary of $48,517 for the 2025–2026 school year, pending a successful background check. The motion was made by Mr. Dawson and seconded by Mr. Patterson and carried on a voice vote.
The board also approved the termination of three lunchroom monitors—Hattie Green, Sharon Freeman and Gloria Adams—effective May 28, 2025; each termination was presented and carried on voice vote. The board voted to appoint Judy Brown-Moreno as board secretary; the motion language in the minutes lists both $850.00 and $750.00 monthly as candidate compensation in different lines — the motion recorded on the floor used $750.00 and the vote split showed Mr. Buchanan voting nay and Ms. Griffin abstaining.
