Councilman Kristopher Gordon raised a proposal to add one or two security cameras in Borough Hall — one in the hallway looking at the front door and one covering the lobby — and recommended adding cameras at the DPW to protect equipment. He said the lobby camera would provide a view of the front door and recommended additional surveillance at DPW where equipment is stored.
Sgt. Sanfilipo and other members discussed existing screens and monitoring options and the council asked staff to explore costs and placement. No contract or spending authorization was approved at the March 23 meeting; council members expressed support for pursuing further information and cost estimates.
