The Village of Lena Board on Aug. 11 approved Resolution 25-108 to join the Community Solar Savings program and authorized Village President Steve Buss to sign enrollment contracts for village accounts.
Mike Mudge explained the village is eligible for the program and that participation would allow Village accounts to be assigned to a solar field to offset annual energy costs. President Steve Buss told the board there would be "no out of pocket cost, and an approximate 15% rate reduction." Attorney Tom Green offered to review individual contracts before final approval. The motion (mover: Dean Rood; seconder: Brooke Baldauf) carried unanimously.
Board action authorizes administrative steps for energy procurement under the solar program; any specific contract terms will be reviewed by the village attorney prior to execution.
