The Village of Michiana council approved several finance and clerk items, including the treasurer report, check register and an HR manual amendment.
Treasurer Tracey McCay presented the treasurer’s report and reported the Pokagon Fund balance at $45,536. Tim McCarthy moved to approve the treasurer report; the motion passed. Tracey said two certificates of deposit coming due would be rolled over with Huntington at 3.5% and Everwise at 4.9% unless otherwise directed.
Clerk Anne Heywood sought approval of the check register in the amount of $112,935.49; Tim McCarthy moved to approve and the motion passed. The council amended HR manual language relating to Medicare to add the words “employee and spouse.” The council also approved holding a Michiana House Walk fundraiser on Friday, July 25, 2025, with proceeds directed toward hall renovation and thanked resident Jan Mathes for donating four game tables for the hall.
