Trustees reviewed a draft ordinance addressing underground (invisible) pet fencing that would require such fences to be set at least 6 feet from sidewalks and property lines and to post visible notice on all sides indicating an underground fence is present. The draft would grandfather existing installations unless they are in violation of the ordinance; the draft language referenced updates to Chapter 9:26.
Christin Keeffer and Dean Rood were assigned to work on the ordinance language. The board did not adopt the ordinance at the July 28 meeting; the discussion focused on aligning underground-fence standards with existing fence rules and on visible posting requirements so neighbors are informed of installations adjacent to sidewalks and property lines.
