Principal Leah Byrd presented an update on Hilltop Elementary at the Oct. 27, 2025 ISD 199 School Board meeting, describing school-level improvements and multi-tiered supports that board members said are making a difference for students.
Director of Learning Megan Blazek introduced Mari Mansfield as the district's American Indian Education Coordinator as the district highlight of the month. In board comments, members acknowledged a new playground at Hilltop, celebrated Simley athletics (the boys cross country team’s first-ever section title and a strong state finish by student Annaleigh Schwab), and encouraged community participation in advisory groups and school visits.
Board members commended Principal Byrd and Hilltop staff for hosting the meeting and supporting families during conferences. Superintendent Dave Bernhardson also thanked Mari Mansfield "for her outstanding work" in the minutes and noted family engagement and fall athletics as sources of pride for the district.
