County approves agreement with DNR to convert bore hole into observation well at Schoper-Bush Park

The board approved a partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to install and maintain a water-level observation well at Schoper-Bush County Park, after learning the Minnesota Geological Survey would drill a County Atlas test hole at the site.
Public Works Superintendent Jed Rhubee said the Minnesota Geological Survey usually seals bore holes when work is complete, but "by partnering with the DNR the bore hole can be utilized for a long-term observation well." Commissioner Wayne Maras moved to approve the Agreement for Installation, Maintenance and Use of a Test Hole or Water Level Observation Well; Commissioner Larry Anderson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
