Town officials told the board that snowmobile Trail C4 was closed by a landowner east of the post office, prompting coordinators to plan a temporary reroute along state Route 8 that would use a ditch crossing and a private driveway if landowner approvals are obtained.
"As of January 2nd 2025 The trail C4 was closed by a landowner on the East side of the Post Office Due to Liability," the minutes state. Supervisor Fernandez said he had contacted the property owner to request temporary use for the 2025 season while the board and trail coordinators work on a longer-term solution. The board also approved purchasing lumber and signage for trail maintenance and rerouting work, not to exceed $2,000.
Separately, Fernandez reported the town's side-by-side is at Moody's for a reported dipstick issue; Moody's is coordinating with Polaris to determine coverage. The board passed a motion authorizing payment to Moody's to fix the vehicle if Polaris does not pay for the repair.
