Morehouse board confirms 2025 appointments, adopts investment and insurance resolutions

The Morehouse Town Board at its Jan. 7, 2025 organizational meeting approved a slate of appointments and several administrative resolutions that set policies for the coming year.
Supervisor Anthony Fernandez announced the application deadline for Zoning/Codes Enforcer is January 17, 2025 and presented the recommended appointments. "The end date for applications for Zoning/Codes Enforcer is January 17th,2025," Fernandez said. The board approved the appointments by motion: Administrative Assistant Karen M. Fernandez; Deputy Town Supervisor Mary Ann Mosher; Town Attorney William P. Schmitt, Esq.; Town Historian Stephanie Tichenor; Animal Control Officer William Uebele; and Deputy Animal Control Officer Priscilla Uebele. The deputy highway superintendent and the Zoning & Codes Enforcement Official positions remain listed as vacant.
In a package of housekeeping resolutions the board unanimously approved Resolution 25-1-1 authorizing payment of utility bills and contractual obligations, Resolution 25-1-2 adopting the town investment policy and guidelines, Resolution 25-1-3 designating approved banks for deposits, and Resolution 25-1-4 authorizing blanket undertakings insurance for town officers and employees. The board also set the mileage reimbursement at $0.70 per mile via Resolution 25-1-5. Each motion was moved, seconded, and carried with all present voting aye.
The board reappointed Carol Garvin to the Planning Board for a term running Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2029. The planning board roster and terms were recorded in the minutes. The board also designated the Hamilton County Express as the town's official newspaper for legal notice purposes.
