The Insurance Committee reviewed proposals assembled by Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services and recommended renewal of the parish's general liability and property insurance package. Tommy Landry said the package is placed across several carriers and reported that "The total premium is $994,096.43 and 2026’s overall reduction is $52,833.94." The committee moved to authorize President Jeff Naquin to sign the renewal documents on behalf of the Assumption Parish Police Jury.
Landry outlined the property and inland marine values used in underwriting: $37,530,553 for property coverage and inland marine exposure of about $3.52 million this year (up from $3.45 million last year). He noted that certain auto retentions were increased to $50,000. Committee member Jeff Naquin moved the authorization and Charles Breaux seconded; the motion was adopted unanimously. The Jury ratified the Insurance Committee report at the regular meeting.
