Board accepts food-service and substitute staffing changes, appoints new high‑school substitute

The Moriah Central School Board accepted the resignation of Cassandra Shoemaker as a part-time food-service helper effective Sept. 1, 2024, and appointed Hilsy Sandoval (effective Sept. 3, 2024) and Joel Melick (effective Sept. 9, 2024) to part-time food-service helper positions. The motions were made and seconded by board members and carried with unanimous consent.
Separately, the board approved the resignation of Chris Thompson as the high-school building substitute effective Sept. 24, 2024, and appointed Frank Gilbo to that substitute role effective Sept. 30, 2024. Those personnel actions were also approved by unanimous vote at the Sept. 17 meeting.
