Supervisor Anthony Fernandez told the board and members of the public that he planned to hold a public budget meeting and a public hearing on Oct. 23, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. "The budget meeting will be talking about finalizing the 2025 Budget and the Public Hearing will be Adopting Local Law #8 of 2024 Overriding the Tax Levy," Fernandez said during the special budget session on Oct. 15.
The announcement follows a line-by-line review of the proposed 2025 budget that the board began at the Oct. 15 special meeting. The hearing on Oct. 23 is the opportunity for formal public input before the board is expected to act on the local law that, as described at the meeting, would override the tax levy.
