The applicants, Keith and Bindi Patel, and their engineer Andrew Clark testified that the project replaces an existing pea-gravel area with a consolidated patio and includes a dry well and modest landscaping to manage stormwater and provide screening.
Engineer Andrew Clark said the drainage design is conservative: "I've actually included in this design a 4 inch rainfall, so it's a little bit more robust than the standard design," he told the board, noting the dry well is sized to accept runoff from the entire patio area. Board members asked for clarification on the dry-well depth and maintenance; the applicant agreed to provide details for engineering review and to include plant screening. The board voted to approve the application subject to engineering review and screening conditions.
