The Wessington Springs City Council held a public hearing and adopted Resolution 4-2026-1 on April 8, 2026, certifying the 2024 College Avenue curb and street improvement special assessment roll. The council approved collecting the special assessment under Plan Two, dividing assessments into five equal annual payments with a 0% interest rate; the first annual installment is due January 1, 2027. The resolution specifies that assessments become delinquent May 1, 2027, incur a 10% penalty, and will be certified to the County Auditor’s Office for collection on September 30 if unpaid.
Mayor Ryan Knipfer presided over the hearing; Gail Arnott was in attendance for the public hearing. Councilmembers Scott Vaske, Shawn Tobin, Cherie Maxwell and Pat Fastnacht voted for the resolution; no councilmembers voted against it. The resolution directs the Finance Officer to notify affected fronting and abutting landowners.
