District told Preschool for All grant shifts to new state agency; ALOP start delayed

Superintendent Mr. Johnson told the board the Preschool for All grant for school year 2026–27 will transition from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to the Illinois Department of Early Childhood on Jan. 1, 2026, and that details about how the grant process will operate are unclear at this time.
Mr. Johnson also said the timeline to begin the Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) has been deferred until fall SY2026–2027 so ROE 53 and Creve Coeur 76 can better analyze the program's potential impact on the district. He added that ISBE has funds allocated for improvements at Parkview School but the criteria for using those funds have not yet been determined. The board was told the district plans to address the 2025 tax levy at its Dec. 16 meeting.
In other instructional planning, Mr. Johnson said the district will again partner with neighboring districts for a joint Teacher Institute Day on Jan. 5, 2026, and the board agreed to fund Creve Coeur 76's portion of a motivational speaker from Title funds.
