At the Jan. 5 meeting the Wessington Springs City Council tabled a quote for security cameras for City Hall and the library and delayed action on the annual salary resolution until the full council is available.
The minutes state the camera quote decision was deferred to the next meeting; no price or vendor was recorded. Separately, Shawn Tobin moved and Cherie Maxwell seconded to table the annual salary resolution until the full council is available; the motion passed 5-0. The minutes then publish salaries as required by South Dakota Codified Laws (SDCL) 6-1-10: Mayor $1,400 per annum plus $60 per meeting; councilmember $1,200 per annum plus $60 per meeting; Clerk of Council $60 per meeting; zoning board $60 per meeting. The minutes also list hourly wages for named employees and a roster of volunteer firemen for workers' compensation purposes.
