Morris Central reports high Regents proficiency but lower mastery; 20 students enrolled in summer school

Principal April Vunk told the board that while Regents proficiency levels were high, "the mastery level wasn't as high as we would like." She reported that 23 students were on the Honor Roll, 30 on the High Honor Roll, and 30 on the Principal's List for grades 7–12.
Vunk said the district is running summer school through the Edmentum platform provided by ONC BOCES from July 13 through August 14; students attend online and meet with a teacher via Zoom. Twenty students are enrolled in various courses (mostly math and science), most of them in grades 7–8; seven high‑school students and three middle‑school students repeating a grade were also noted.
