Conservation commission urges alternative siting or conditions for Feinberg ADU to protect wetlands

Commissioners said the proposed ADU sits close to the existing residence and within the current building envelope, and they encouraged exploring alternative locations on the large lot to reduce impacts to wetlands.
As with another application reviewed at the meeting, the commission listed conditions it would like the Zoning Board of Adjustment to require if it approves the variance: pre‑construction erosion controls, minimizing site disturbance and retaining vegetation where possible, retaining and/or restoring a 25‑foot vegetative buffer of native species and permanently maintaining it as naturally vegetated, and follow‑up verification by the building inspector or a qualified natural‑resource professional prior to issuance of an occupancy permit.
