Committee members said they are still waiting on delivery and purchase-order acceptance for Harris radios that were submitted in March. Chris McCann (Elko County Ambulance) and other staff reported ongoing coordination with Harris headquarters and slow sales-rep turnover in the region.
"We're still waiting on Harris radios," a staff member told the committee; another member added, "They were submitted March 5." Members said tablet-command equipment is already being used and that training will be scheduled. Committee members called for continued follow-up with the vendor and asked staff to report back when purchase-order status changes or grant awards are confirmed.
The committee noted that several CERC and UWS grant applications are pending and that a state budget committee meeting expected that day might produce decisions; staff were asked to keep members apprised so the county can pursue mid-cycle opportunities.
