Michelle Bland, a representative of NGA 911, told the Elko County Enhanced 911 Board on June 4 that the vendor is continuing audio-recording tests with Exacom and migrating outside service providers from legacy circuits to Next Gen Direct Connect.
"I'm gonna be doing integrated text to 911 over the next few months with them to move text into an integrated go live state in this in the call handling solution," Bland said, and added she will provide a list of migrated and outstanding OSPs and associated timelines at the next meeting. Bland said both Heather and Carrie have been on the new system for several months and that the centers are generally running well.
The update framed the next steps as operational testing (audio recording reliability) and phased migrations away from copper/analog circuits toward direct IP connectivity. Bland described the migration as ongoing and said staff will receive a migration-status report at the board's next meeting.
Board members asked few questions during the item; the chair thanked Bland and invited her to remain available in case the board needed follow-up during the meeting.
