The staff member emphasized that figure covered only the primary line path and did not include a formal drop or on‑site service connections, which would add to total cost.
Chair (S1) said that building a new site could easily exceed $1,000,000 based on current projected costs, and the board discussed cost‑share possibilities with the city and hiring local contractors to build and maintain lines under contract. Staff noted NV Energy would require a contract explaining maintenance responsibilities if the district built and owned the new line.
The board agreed to keep the item active for further study, to seek more precise quotes and to include the project as a future action item pending engineering surveys and funding decisions.
