The commission voted to put the Riverbend fishing dock project out to bid and reviewed the single bid returned to date: an 80‑foot by 10‑foot fixed dock quoted at $90,582.11 from Wahoo Docks of LaGrange. County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners only a few dock builders can secure the necessary Corps permitting in the river channel and said staff will seek required U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permits before awarding any contract.
Commissioners discussed letting the project proceed to formal bid and awarded authority to bring the item back for a vote once permitting is confirmed and required documents are in hand. The work session record shows one pre‑bid meeting took place and staff expects to return with permitting verification and any recommendation to award.
