Staff noted the parcel is in floodplain and that other nearby buildings have comparable heights. Board members signaled no objection and approved the request (motion by Gerald Shaw; seconded by Tom Frank). The approval permits the vertical expansion under county rules for nonconforming structures but does not change other permitting requirements.
Staff will continue to coordinate required permits and ensure floodplain considerations are addressed before or during permit review.
