Elko Community Health to rebrand as Convergence Health; adds specialty services and new cath-lab technology

Mike Clark, CEO of Community Health Development Partners, told the board the clinic will change its public name from Elko Community Health Center to Convergence Health to avoid confusion with similarly named organizations; he stressed that ownership is not changing. “We are changing our name for Melco Community Health Center so we don't get confused with the Nevada Community Health Center,” Clark said and confirmed signage will be updated in the near future.
Clark said the facility has expanded specialty access: a neurosurgeon recently held a clinic to provide spine services, gynecologists will visit periodically for women's-health care, and oncology services are available via telehealth in partnership with Intermountain. He also said the hospital is among the first in the state to use a drug-coated balloon in its cath lab. “We had the 1st, the 1st, obviously, Elko County and, actually, only the 2nd facility in the state to use a drug coated balloon, in our cath lab,” Clark said.
