Assessor Teresa Lyons informed the board that property tax exemptions are due by March 1, 2026, and that failure to respond to state notices could result in removal of exemptions.
To support the Assessor’s work, the board approved purchase of a replacement computer, two monitors and necessary programs. Council Member Joseph Trappler moved and Supervisor Jack Thompson seconded the purchase motion; the vote was unanimous. The action is intended to ensure the assessor can meet filing and software needs ahead of the exemption deadline.
