Addison board moves to advertise bid for F‑550 truck and flags highway agreement shortfall

Council Member Joseph Trappler moved, and Council Member John Lyons seconded, a motion "to submit bid in the Addison Post" for the truck; the motion passed unanimously. Highway Superintendent Kenny Peoples Jr. reported ongoing maintenance and repairs, including getting Truck 1 running and arranging for Truck 2 to be hauled back to the shop for a bad engine; he submitted a fuel log showing the highway department "used 388.5 gallons of diesel fuel."
Separately, the board noted a budget/contract gap: the board has budgeted $185,000 for highway agreement purposes while the presented Highway Agreement totaled $300,000. Supervisor Jack Thompson said the board "can’t approve any additional funds, agreement can’t exceed the $185,000," citing recent equipment purchases and repairs that constrained available funds. The board’s comments left the agreement subject to revision or further review before approval.
