Highway Superintendent Kenny Peoples Jr. reported maintenance activity and equipment updates during the April 2 meeting, including work on the grader, tractor and stone rake and the delivery of a new 1-ton truck. "Worked on the Grader, Tractor and stone rake. New 1 Ton Truck delivered," was recorded in the minutes; the highway department also logged use of 383 gallons of diesel fuel.
Peoples requested permission to rent a roller for upcoming highway work. The board approved a motion to rent the roller (motion moved by Council Member Weale, seconded by Council Member Becker) with Weale, Lyons and Becker voting aye. The board also noted a $6,500 offer for the town's old roller but placed that sale on hold pending further discussion at the next meeting.
