NYMIR inspection prompts Addison to require driver pre-trip checks, hold-harmless agreements and budget for stucco repairs

The board reviewed recommendations from NYMIR and agreed to take three actions to reduce liability and address building maintenance. First, the board directed that a daily HWY/DPW pre-trip driver inspection sheet be completed immediately for highway vehicles. Second, the board confirmed it will continue to require Certificates of Insurance from contractors and will add a requirement that a Hold Harmless Agreement be signed. Third, the board acknowledged exterior stucco deterioration on the Town Hall and said it will budget for repairs and obtain estimates with an anticipated repair date next spring.
Council members said the measures were practical responses to NYMIR’s recommendations and assigned the Highway Superintendent and Town Clerk to implement the inspection and insurance updates. Estimates for building repairs will be collected as part of next year’s capital planning.
